Suncokret Centre for Community Development in the rural postwar area in Vrginmost conducted environmental education workshops, as part of Youth in Action program, to promote non-formal education and active youth participation. The project duration was one year. Youth took turns (with assistance of the coach) in creating fun, creative, informative and interactive educational workshops promoting environmental education, awareness and provide tools for more sustainable lifestyles (theoretical workshops). Youth also held practical environmental education activities outdoors including eco gardening, learning about solar power, composting, recycling etc. In this eco-educational handbook youth compiled the environmental education workshops, activities, games and practical approaches in order to share their learned information with the wider community, the children at the center and visiting international volunteers. Youth will be able to transfer their new theoretical and practical knowledge to their peers and children in the community.
This project is funded by the European Union.
